She began her studies in Classical Indian Dance, Music, Yoga, and Mythology in 1978.
From 1983-1988, with the assistance of a professional development grant from the American Institute of Indian Studies, and a Fulbright Senior Research Fellowship, she began extensive research into the art, culture and spiritual traditions of North India.
During this time she was accepted as the first American disciple of India’s legendary Kathak dancer and early Bollywood film star, Sitara Devi and was initiated into a sacred tradition of the ancient feminine Yogic Arts that had been handed down from teacher to student for thousands of years.
Since that time of introduction and initiation she has consistently sought out other remnants of these teachings in traditional cultures throughout the world. With Dr. Robert Masters she investigated trance techniques, his Psycho physical Method of Neuro-sensory Reeducation, the realm of healing and the Egyptian Mysteries. With Bengali tabla master, Shashank Bakshi, She studied Indian Classical vocal music and deepened her perception of the effects of sound and vibration on the luminous energy field. For the past ten years, together with her husband, hermetic scholar and filmmaker Jay
Weidner, she has done extensive research into the Western Traditions of Alchemy, Gnosticism, and the Kabbalah.
