Tuvan Shamanic Tradition with Nikolay Oorshak

noorzhak11Jeffrey’s intriguing conversation with Nikolay Oorshak, Tuvan throat singing healer and shaman from Southern Siberia.

As a past chair of the Tuvan Shaman Society, Tos-Deer, Nikolay has many years of experience at his healing practice in the Central Shamanic Clinic in Tuva and has been a participant in several International Shamanic Congresses and performed live at The Dalai Lama’s 60th birthday party where he received his blessing for his healing work.

vmatrenitsky1With a unique talent for jazz improvisation, Nikolay has developed a new direction in ethno-jazz known as khoomei-jazz and has five CDs and is author of Un-Hun System of Sound Healing which translates to mean the Sound of Sun.  This powerful healing system was developed by Nikolay based on the Tuvan Shamanic tradition and has been adapted for the western world by his disciple and interpreter Dr. Vladislav Matrenitsky.
