Jeffrey’s remarkable conversation with Jean Houston, scholar, philosopher and researcher in human capacities and one of the principal founders of the Human Potential Movement.

Along with her husband Dr. Robert Masters, Dr. Houston also began The Foundation For Mind Research. She is the founder and principal teacher of the Mystery School, a school of human development and program of cross-cultural, mythic and spiritual studies, dedicated to teaching history, philosophy, the New Physics, psychology, anthropology, myth and the many dimensions of human potential.

She is the Founder as well as the Program Director of the International Institute for Social Artistry.  As advisor to UNICEF in human and cultural development, she has worked to implement some of their extensive educational and health programs.

With other international agencies, she has implemented the social development of indigenous people through the integration of their unique cultural gifts into their health and educational systems. She is one of the distinguished group chosen to work with the Dalai Lama in an advisory capacity, as well as serving as advisor to US presidents and corporations.  To encourage the creation of new ways for people to work together to help solve societal problems, Jean created a national not-for-profit organization, The Possible Society.

Author of twenty-six books including, A Passion for the Possible, Search for the Beloved, Life Force, The Possible Human, Public Like a Frog, A Mythic Life: Learning to Live Our Greater Story, and Manual of the Peacemaker, her book Jump Time explores a new Global Paradigm and speaks of a re-genesis of human society.  Her PBS Special, A Passion for the Possible, has been widely shown. Jeffrey has a lovely conversation with Dr. Leonard Laskow, a Life Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and former Chief of OB-GYN at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula in Carmel, California.

Dr. Laskow completed residency training at Stanford Medical Center and took a postdoctoral fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco where he was a member of the faculty.

Dr. Laskow is also a founding member of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine and teaches internationally at medical centers, universities, and holistic institutes, including the Esalen Institute, Interface, the New York Open Center, UCSF Medical Center, and the California Institute of Integral Studies. He has appeared a number of times on the “America’s Talking” television show, Jeffrey Mishlove’s TV series “Thinking Allowed,” and numerous other radio and TV programs.

Coining the term Holoenergetic Healing, by which he means healing with the energy of the “whole.” Dr. Laskow found that it takes energy to maintain separation and that as we bring ourselves into wholeness, the energy of separation is liberated. This energy can then be consciously directed to facilitate our body’s healing response. Dr. Laskow now teaches this process to healing professionals and lay people and is a consultant in Behavioral and Energy Medicine in Ashland, Oregon.

The principles of holoenergetic healing are presented in Dr. Laskow’s breakthrough book, Healing with Love. Highly recommended by Deepak Chopra, Larry Dossey, and Dolores Krieger, this book uses ancient and cutting-edge healing techniques, self awareness, energy work, and practical exercises to help one directly experience love as a healing force. In it Dr. Laskow describes his laboratory research, which documents the effectiveness of heart-focused holoenergetic techniques in significantly inhibiting the growth of tumor cells in tissue culture and bacterial growth in test tubes. The book, originally published in 1992 by Harper Collins, has sold over 30,000 copies in eight languages. In subsequent research, Dr. Laskow has shown that the molecular configuration and properties of water and the physical structure of DNA can be changed by conscious intention, imagery and love.

Dr. Laskow will be presenting a workshop on The Art and Science of Healing with Love at the upcoming International Conference on Science and Consciousness on March 27 through April 1st at the Hilton Buffalo Thunder Resort in Santa Fe.

Jeffrey has a fascinating conversation at the International Sound Healing Conference with Frans Bosman, founder of Essential Resonance, and creator of Organum Medicinalisâ„¢, the brand name of an amazing sound healing instrument invented and designed by Frans.

Sound healer and pipe organ builder, Frans has been working with pipe organ sound for the better part of his life for the Sound Healing Community as well as those involved in Composition and the creation of Sacred Spaces.

Born in The Netherlands, where pipe organs play a major role in the cultural and spiritual traditions, Frans had years of exposure to those most beautiful instruments which left a deep and lasting impression. Building and restoring pipe organs for over 30 years set the stage for Frans for an understanding of the effects of sound on all levels of human existence and ultimately provided the tools to bring light and harmony, through sound, into the lives of those in need of healing.

After the initial success of the prototype, this instrument of healing was presented at the 2007 Sound Healing Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico by Frans Bosman and Don Campbell (renowned musician, speaker, expert sound healer, and author of The Mozart Effect, Sound Spirit, and numerous other works). It was demonstrated at the exhibits of the Global Sound Conference in Los Angeles in May 2008, and again at the Third Annual International Sound Healing Conference in Santa Fe in November.

Frans studied cross-cultural healing methods with sound and music with Pat Moffitt Cook at the Open Ear Center on Bainbridge Island, Washington.

Frans arranges a series of organ pipes as tone generators around his client’s, and then proceeds to play various combinations of chords and tones that have been shown to be very powerful  in a variety of healing techniques including Chakra work, whole brain synchronization, body work and emotional healing.

By placing these organ pipes on either side of the client, pipes of the same frequency but slightly off key causes a binaural beat that can be increased or decreased in frequency as the pipes can be tuned very quickly.  In addition, single tones can be sounded, much like other tone-generating instruments such as bowls and forks.  Since the pipes are placed according to pitch and the location of human energy centers or chakras, a complete chakra “tune-up” may be possible, especially when pipes of the same pitch, placed on either side of the client, are played as a very slowly ascending scale. Tuning allows the practitioner to administer more specifically the sounds or pitches needed for the particular client, since the tones associated with specific chakras are somewhat different for everyone.

This instrument, although using ancient concepts, offers new sounds for spiritual practice, especially when combined with voice (chant, mantra practice etc.)
