Jeffrey has a wonderful conversation with Chloe Goodchild, founder of The Naked Voice and its charitable foundation, dedicated to healing the divide between silence, speech and song.

Since deafness in childhood, Chloe began a life-long journey to find ways to express herself and to help others in the same process. The ‘naked’ voice – or real sound, prior to the social or personality voice – was the outcome and treasure of this process. She created a method of communication, and effortless expression that enables singers and non-singers alike to access their true sound, from a deep and non-judgmental listening, sourced from silence.

Chloe’s teaching and performance has been informed by an experiential research of East -West voice and sound practices, following travels in Africa, India, Turkey, Europe, USA and Canada. She has sung for the Dalai Lama, the Way of Peace in Northern Ireland and many other events.

Her CD, Fierce Wisdom, features her world anthem, Singing Field. She has recorded with several major film, jazz, contemporary and classical musicians and composers. Chloe has recently published two Naked Voice teaching or “home learner” CD-DVDs, Your Naked Voice and Awakening Through Sound. Following her book The Naked Voice, Chloe is presently writing a new book, Sound Intelligence, to be published soon.

Jeffrey’s terrific 2 part conversation with Dr. Roxanne Daleo, a Health Educator who taught at Harvard University Health Services and is the founder of MindWorks for Children.

Dr. Daleo was trained in relaxation and stress reduction techniques at the Harvard Medical School, Division of Behavioral Medicine, and she also studied the use of symbols for healing from the C. G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland.

For the past fifteen years, Dr. Daleo has worked as clinician, instructor and consultant in a wide variety of business and health care settings, and she has extensive experience working with children and adults. Additionally, she has designed and produced audiovisual programs for patient education, health promotion, and creative arts therapies and has developed play therapy programs for the chronic and terminally ill.  Dr. Daleo also conducts stress management workshops for professionals and develops health promotion programs for educators and health care practitioners.

She is the writer/director of the feature length documentary 2012 The Odyssey and it’s sequel, Timewave 2013, author of the award winning book, The Path of the Priestess; A Guidebook for Awakening the Divine Feminine, creator of the DVD Yoga of Light and producer of the Sacred Mysteries DVD Collection. In addition Sharron has written articles for New Dawn Magazine and Evolve Magazine including Mary Magdalene: Apostle of the Apostles, Yoga of Light, 2012:A Time Odyssey and Tolkien at the End of Time; Alchemical Secrets of The Lord of the Rings with her husband Jay Weidner.

Sharron has worked for 30 years in the fields of education, and the esoteric arts to investigate, integrate and impart the knowledge and wisdom of ancient and traditional cultures throughout the world. Trained from childhood in the Classical Western arts of Ballet, Opera and Theater, after receiving a diploma from the Peabody Conservatory of Music, a B.A. in Theater from the University of Maryland and an M.A. in Education from George Washington University, Sharron became a member of New York City’s vital dance/theater/performance art scene. She then moved to Boston where she became known for her innovative multicultural dance/theater/video productions, which wove together the realms of psychology, technology, myth, history and social criticism. This work was supported by the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, the Boston Arts Lottery and the Cambridge Arts Council. She began her studies in Classical Indian Dance, Music, Yoga, and Mythology in 1978.

From 1983-1988, with the assistance of a professional development grant from the American Institute of Indian Studies, and a Fulbright Senior Research Fellowship, she began extensive research into the art, culture and spiritual traditions of North India.

During this time she was accepted as the first American disciple of India’s legendary Kathak dancer and early Bollywood film star, Sitara Devi and was initiated into a sacred tradition of the ancient feminine Yogic Arts that had been handed down from teacher to student for thousands of years.

Since that time of introduction and initiation she has consistently sought out other remnants of these teachings in traditional cultures throughout the world. With Dr. Robert Masters she investigated trance techniques, his Psycho physical Method of Neuro-sensory Reeducation, the realm of healing and the Egyptian Mysteries. With Bengali tabla master, Shashank Bakshi, She studied Indian Classical vocal music and deepened her perception of the effects of sound and vibration on the luminous energy field. For the past ten years, together with her husband, hermetic scholar and filmmaker Jay Weidner, she has done extensive research into the Western Traditions of Alchemy, Gnosticism, and the Kabbalah.

During the past twenty years Sharron has also been active in the world of video production as director, actress, choreographer and producer. In the late 80’s she worked at National Video Industries in New York City under the tutelage of CEO Brian Kelly creating the visionary work “Lotus Mind” which premiered at the Madras Film Festival. While on her Fulbright she also wrote and directed a series on The Art of Choreography for Jamia Millia University in New Delhi.

Due to her knowledge and expertise in these ancient traditions, as well as her ability to assist in developing programs to foster harmonious dialogue between people of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, she has served as consultant to the National Endowment for the Arts, created multicultural arts-in-education programs for Arts Horizons and Lotus Fine Arts in New York, as well as Young Audiences of Connecticut, New Jersey and Virginia. In addition, she has lectured and performed in numerous universities such as Harvard, MIT, and Columbia, as well as for cultural organizations and museums throughout the world.

Jeffrey has an intriguing conversation with Nikolay Oorshak, a shaman from Tuva which is in Southern Siberia. Nikolay is a virtuoso of throat singing, a healer, musician and recording artist and ex-Chairman of the Tuvan shaman society Tos-Deer.

Nikolay has been a participant in several International Shamanic Congresses and has years of experience in his healing practice at Central Shamanic Clinic in Tuva, where he completed his research work in Shamanic Practice in Combination with Healing Sound.  Nikolay also performed in India to celebrate The Dalai Lama’s 60th birthday where he received the Dalai Lama’s blessing for his healing work.

He is a welcomed guest at different folklore, jazz and New Age festivals in ex-USSR and Europe.

Nikolay has expressed a unique talent for jazz improvisation and has actually developed a new direction in ethno-jazz: “khoomei-jazz.”

He has five CDs to his credit and is author of Un-Hun System of Sound Healing, a rejuvenation and spiritual development technique based on the ancient shamanic tradition of throat singing.

The Un-Hun, which translates to mean the “Sound of Sun”, is a powerful sound-based system, developed by Nikolay through decades of his personal experience. It is based on Tuvan shamanic tradition and adapted for the western world by his disciple Dr. Vladislav Matrenitsky, who is the interpreter in this interview.
